About Nansee

Nansee New resides with her husband Richard Rasmussen, dividing their time in Mendocino California and La Manzanilla, Mexico. Together they have created the beautiful Casa Luz Event Center in La Manzanilla, a unique space for a variety of community events including yoga, dance, films, study groups, poetry readings, women’s events, workshops of various nature and fundraisers. As a non-denominational minister, Nansee's service is to love, performing weddings and ceremonies and facilitating spiritual groups in both California and Mexico.

Her adventurous spirit was initiated at age 23, when she left her home in Ohio to work and live in Bolivia as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Subsequent travels, her love of dance and music as well as her studies and interests in the art and soul of many indigenous cultures has given Nansee and her art a depth and richness of unique expression. Her life and work are a testimony to the way she honors the mysteries and experiences the sacred.
In Nansee’s words: Life is a spiritual journey in which we are reminded that every moment contains a gift. Meeting every breath and every experience with acceptance, compassion, forgiveness and love is the path of freedom and joy.

Kind Words

"Dear Nancy: The almighty powers shined down on us last Sunday, when they brought us YOU. Your presence, your words, your spirit and heart, made the wedding what it was; a sense of true union. Our endless thanks to you for doing it so lovingly, and helping us get to the deepest part of ourselves."
